This wedding was nothing short of epic. Each detail was so personalized and perfect for Lea and Daniel. I was so grateful to be asked to shoot with Lacey, but I was also excited to go into the day knowing in advance how awesome the bride and groom are together! It was truly a celebration of a perfect match and if the wedding was any indication of the Domanico's life together, I think there will be a lot of dancing, friends, and fun in their future! Best wishes to you both. Glad I was able to celebrate another FIJI wedding! :)
After months of booked weekends in Atlanta we FINALLY made it home to Statesboro. Since I am a little behind on a few gifts (sorry Trent), I took some time to capture a few special places in town and around the house. I still refer to Statesboro as "home" no matter how long I have lived Atlanta. It is amazing how rejuvenating it can be to spend time with my family at a slower pace. I'm so grateful for all of the lessons this town and its people have taught me and I think about my hometown every day... especially when I am stuck in traffic on 85. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love living in Atlanta but I really love and appreciate my roots in our small town. After all, it is where I was able to grow up with my best friend and partner in life. As our lives seem to get pulled in every direction as of late, it felt so good to go home and feel grounded again. So this is my Reader's Digest tribute to a short weekend in Statesboro - hopefully I will be back soon. The three stooges...
Lately I have met with several clients to discuss their wedding plans (YAY!). Some couples know exactly what they want to ask while others aren't entirely sure where to begin so here is a guide that could help any future brides (or grooms!) understand my services and a few helpful general wedding photography FAQ's! 1. What is included in your package?
My services include full day coverage - yes that means everything from the time you start getting ready until your grand exit! It also includes a high resolution disc of your images that have been thoughtfully chosen and edited. Engagement sessions are also included as it gives us a chance to really get to know each other and connect. Engagement sessions also help ease the anxiety of being in front of a camera before the big day! 2. How would you describe your style? My goal is to tell the story of your day with my images and I describe my style as photojournalistic. However, I also ensure that you have the "over-the-mantle" and "send-to-grandma" traditional portraits as well! I''m very easy going and my main focus is to ensure that you enjoy your day. I love capturing the genuine moments like the beautiful smiles as you see each other for the first time and the belly laughs that follow your best man's toast! In post processing, I create vibrant, crisp images that enhance the natural beauty of the image without the use of "fad" techniques so your images will remain timeless and beautiful. 3. Is there a limit on the number of pictures you will give us? Nope! Depending on the length of the coverage needed, size of the wedding party and family, guest count, etc. you can expect anywhere between 200-500+ edited pictures in your full gallery. I will carefully and thoughtfully select the best images to edit and present to you that best represent the story of your wedding day. 4. Do you bring a second shooter? Second shooters are included in my wedding package! I bring someone that is professional and dedicated to providing beautiful images in a similar style so you have a full gallery that feels cohesive. 5. How long will it take to see the images? I'm an OCD editing nerd. I absolutely LOVE being a part of your wedding and truly feeling like a member of your family by the end of the day. However, one of my favorite parts of my job is to see your images and get to work on creating something artful that you will cherish! All of that is to say (with somewhat of an asterisk) that I typically post a sneak peek on my Facebook page within about a week, a blog post within about 2-3 weeks, and your full gallery will be available in about 5-6 weeks. 6. What happens if you get sick on our wedding day? It would probably take the Plague for me miss a wedding but in the event that something serious happens, I would have the trusted second shooter step up as primary or utilize my network of other talented photographers to ensure your day is not only covered but beautifully captured. 7. Will you help me with my timeline for the wedding day? I certainly will! I want to ensure that there is enough time built in to account for family portraits, group shots, etc. but I do strongly recommend couples take advantage of the "First Look". I know, I know - it's not traditional and everyone feels differently about seeing each other before the bride's grand entrance. But here is why I recommend them: you get extra alone time that you will not get after the ceremony is over, you have the ability to enjoy the cocktail hour, it can ease any pre-wedding jitters, and... THE PICTURES ARE AWESOME! However, the choice is yours! 8. Can I request certain images are taken throughout our day? Absolutely! I am always open to new ideas and your suggestions could spark an idea for your big day. However keep in mind that certain "shots" cannot be exactly replicated. For instance, the beautiful images you see on Pinterest of the Bride and Groom with horses in a field as the backdrop are pretty much impossible if you're getting married in a ballroom in the heart of Atlanta. Make sure you take a look through any photographer's work to determine if their style matches your vision. 9. Do you work from a shot list? Family portraits absolutely require a shot list so I do not leave any combination out! However I will ask for this list prior to your wedding day so you have time to think on it as well. My goal is to capture your day exactly as it happens so if you will have a Father/Daughter dance, it will be captured but every wedding is different! That's why the day-of timeline is important - it helps me plan for any special toasts, dances, or even performances! 10. Are you the actual photographer that will be shooting our wedding? Yep! I am the one person that you should really "click" with on your wedding day... other than your soon-to-be spouse of course! Seriously though, we will be spending a lot of time together which is why I am happy to meet with potential clients! I want you to feel confident that you will not only love your images but enjoy working with me as well. I am so happy that the weather warmed for us to have a fun session out at Tanyard Creek Park! In honor of their daughter's 1st birthday, Jo Ann and Darius wanted to have their family portraits taken and I'm so glad I was able to be a part of this special time in their family's life! Happy Birthday Gabby!!! Thanks to all of you for strolling through the park with me - even in not so comfortable shoes!
