For this session we went OTP, I'm talking REAL OTP, and I loved every minute of the beautiful drive up to Helen to see Alston and Chris (and sweet Rosie!) for their engagement session! They hike this trail almost every weekend so they wanted to capture images in this cherished spot. The trip was EXTRA worthwhile when sweet Alston gave us a bag of her delicious rainbow/Easter themed rice krispie treats to enjoy on the ride home... or right then (I think I had two before we actually started shooting). The trail was absolutely gorgeous and Alston and Chris' GSP pup, Rosie, was extra excited to be in the mountains! Although I think Morgan was more excited than Rosie because he got to test out a few drone shots while we were there; still need some practice but it was fun!! [I promise I won't share the video - it will make you a little (or a lot) nauseous from the spinning.] It seemed like we were quite literally going to go "over the river and through the woods" but then we also went through the river as it was the quickest way to get back to the car to head to our next stop on the trail. I absolutely loved exploring North Georgia with these two; they were such troopers - especially Alston navigating the trail in a dress at the end!! I'd say it was all worth it, wouldn't you? Alston and Chris - thank you so much for being up for anything. Rosie - thank you for the endless kisses. Can't wait for the big day!!!
Oh, Georgia Tech. It's fun when life comes full circle and I get to photograph my couples in the same place where I worked for 4 years before starting my business! It also happens to be a meaningful location for Anna and Gabe as Anna spent her college years at Georgia Tech. This was actually my first time meeting Anna and Gabe as they live busy lives as lawyers in North Carolina but they instantly felt like old friends... especially when Anna brought out a third glass for the champagne they brought! [BEST CLIENTS EVER] It was the perfect day to explore Georgia Tech's beautiful campus... and it's always a good day for champagne. I'm so glad I got to spend time with these two before their wedding this summer!! Anna and Gabe - thank you for making the trip back to Atlanta for your session!! I hope you love these as much as I do!
When you shoot a musician's wedding, you go in expecting it to be an epic party and Maxine and Adam's wedding did NOT disappoint!! I was so excited for their beautiful spring wedding at the Suwanee River Club as it's always great to work with their amazing team! The weather was perfect and so was the setting for Maxine and Adam's super fun family and friends. These two thoughtfully chose each and every detail to make sure their guests had an amazing experience; they even hired professional "encouragers" - really professional dancers - that kept guests on the dance floor all night with amazing dance moves!! Although I'd say my favorite detail was the macaroni and cheese bar.
I had the pleasure of capturing Alexa and Tom's engagement session in a few of their favorite spots around Atlanta! We started where their relationship began - Peachtree United Methodist Church. They happened to sit on the same pew one Sunday morning and the rest is history! It was so cute to hear them tell the story and I loved that they chose to honor their beginning by capturing a few shots in the very same pew. After taking full advantage of their beautiful church, we headed to Krog Street Market - where they had their first date!! It was only appropriate to toast the occasion and after a few champagne showers we headed to Jackson Street Bridge to capture the skyline at sunset. These two are incredibly kind and genuine and I'm so glad the weather cooperated - between two stormy days we had a beautiful sunny day! I had so fun getting to know Alexa and Tom and sharing in the excitement of their wedding plans during their engagement session. Alexa and Tom - thank you for spending your Tuesday night with me! Best wishes in this crazy, exciting, wonderful time!!
Isn't it funny how you can grow up and spend the first 20 years of your life in the same town but see it so differently when you go back for a new purpose? I got to travel back to my hometown of Statesboro, Georgia and visit my alma mater for Brittany and Tucker's engagement session! These college sweethearts met at Georgia Southern *HAIL SOUTHERN!!!* and will put down roots as newlyweds there as well. Finding little nooks and crannies on campus and around town was such a thrill for me! Seeing my hometown through Brittany and Tucker's eyes was so fun since they have created their own memories there. These two are some of the most genuine people you could ever meet. They laugh easy and don't take things too seriously - just about the perfect recipe for a marriage. I first met Brittany as a bridesmaid in another one of my sweet bride's wedding and I'm so glad she first thought of me for her own wedding! Brittany and Tucker - thank you for spending your Saturday evening with me, I can't wait for November!!!
