Some clients just GET me. There's not really a better way to put it. They just understand my humor, quirks... and love for bourbon. I knew Mary Bec and Ryan were the perfect fit the moment I met them, but after spending so much time with them during their engagement session (I'll say it again, why can't they all end with BBQ and bourbon?!) I was just excited to have found two new friends! On their wedding day, I was once again just treated as if I was a member of their wonderful family. Everything about Mary Bec and Ryan exudes traditional, southern charm and grace, including their wedding. The ladies prepped at the Ritz Carlton before heading to Cherokee Town and Country Club for the finishing touches, which included an heirloom brooch worn by over 25 brides in Mary Bec's family. The gentlemen sported boutonnieres made from rifle shells found on the Ramseur's family farm. It was truly special to see so much love and history incorporated into their beautiful day. Surrounded by a super fun bridal party and amazing family, Mary Bec and Ryan said "I do!" at Peachtree Christian Church and danced the night away at Cherokee Town and Country Club! These two definitely know how to throw a party. Mary Bec & Ryan - thank you for letting me be a part of your day. I can't wait to celebrate many more milestones! There never seemed to be a great time to share them with y'all. As I looked at the calendar, I realized that it has been exactly one year since I made Jill Doty Photography my full time job, and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than sharing these images with you. I'm blown away by how much has growth and change can happen within a year! It has been an amazing year of ups, downs, new experiences, better friendships, and a whole lot of love. I am beyond blessed to call my passion my job, but what fills my heart with joy is the people that this incredible business brings into my life. Brittany and Jonathan are two people that joined the JDP family in its early stages and they have a very special place in my heart! So rather than write a sappy blog about the past year, I wanted to share this awesome day after session that I think epitomizes the key words that describe the foundation and spirit of my business:
NATURAL, LOVE, FUN, ROMANCE, JOY, TRUST Brittany and Jonathan booked me before I imagined being able to do this full time. They placed a trust in me and my work and I will be forever grateful for their love and friendship. When I met them for their engagement session, I absolutely fell in love with this duo! Brittany and Jonathan are two of the most genuine, kind, and gracious people you could ever meet. They married on Tybee Island and it was a stunning wedding! About a week before their big day, I asked Brittany if they would consider doing a day after session on the beach as we wouldn't have time to head to the beach on their wedding day. Once again, she placed her trust in me... and totally threw caution to the wind. We headed to the beach and after grabbing a few shots, I asked how open they were to getting in the water. Believe me when I tell you I couldn't get my camera up fast enough before Brittany and Jonathan were running into the water!!! The lifeguard actually had to call us back in! I had an absolute BLAST during this session. If you know me, you know that I'm happiest by the water, so this was just icing on the cake. I hope you love these images as much as I do. Thank you for celebrating an incredible first year with me and I can't wait to continue to tell more love stories! In this day and age, weddings are quite the production. Every detail is supposed to be so perfect and pretty, but the meaning and importance of the day can easily get lost. Stephanie and Tom wanted a beautiful day, but more importantly they wanted to be married and to celebrate their love with their closest family and friends! While it was a small wedding at Stephanie's childhood home, Stephanie made a GRAND entrance!!! I mean, come on. Have you ever seen a bride being FLOWN into her ceremony?! It was so special to see how much Stephanie and Tom were supported and loved by their family and friends. Tom's family flew all the way from England! And yes, their accents are just as dreamy as you are imagining. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for these two! Stephanie and Tom - thank you so much for letting me capture your special day, I had an absolute blast with you both! Congratulations!! Katie shared some of the details of her wedding plans with me during their engagement session and I couldn't wait to see it come to life! It was obvious that Katie and Will were head over heels in love with each other from the moment I met them, and on their wedding day they could not stop smiling. From their first look to the last dance, their love was celebrated and honored with family and friends. As it was Mother's Day weekend, Katie honored her mom and all of the moms in their life with a special dance. It was so special to be a part of such a love-filled day. Katie and Will - thank for your allowing me to capture your beautiful wedding day. I hope you love these images as much as I do! I love this shot above by Amanda of A.Bloch Photography! Normally I look up my travel time before a session and sigh when I realize I will hit the usual, Atlanta traffic. This time, I was surprised to find that Hillary and Stephen live so close to us!! Which is fabulous because I cannot wait for our future double dog + adult dates! While they got ready, I got to play with Max (their pitt mix) in the backyard and let me tell you, he is quite the soccer player. I've never seen such a thing! He literally would pass himself the ball. We were able to capture some precious family fun in Hillary and Stephen's backyard before heading to Piedmont Park! It was basically a photography convention that evening because the weather was absolutely gorgeous! The crowds just made it more fun to find some of the hidden gems of Piedmont. In fact, we discovered so many gorgeous locations that we were there until the sun went down and casted a lovely pink glow into the park. I'm so thankful for clients that let me get a little carried away and lose track of time during their session! Hillary and Stephen - thanks for spending your Sunday night with me! I hope you love these as much as I do!
