Feagan and John finally got married and I had the honor of capturing it all as they said, "I do!" at Westminster Presbyterian Church and danced the night away in Downtown Atlanta at the Georgia Freight Depot! Photographing friends' weddings is always special, but this wedding felt like a reunion from all different parts of our lives! You know when the six degrees of separation really feels like two? That's what this wedding was like and I LOVED it! We have known Feagan and John for YEARS and it was so wonderful to see them finally tie the knot in front of their family and friends! I'd say everyone would agree it was a long time coming but so worth the wait!
When your best friend falls in love with her (other) best friend and he puts a ring on it... you make them do an engagement session while they are in town. Before moving [abandoning me] to Philly, Becca and Mark's relationship began in Atlanta. For a while, I just referred to Mark as "the Australian" but over the years I have gotten to see how much he cares for Becca and is SO much more than just the fabulous accent you could listen to all day. These two have a way of communicating with just a look and can make each other smile so easily. I was in Hawaii when Becca called to tell me they were engaged and I could not WAIT to hear all about it all! Becca has been my person for over a decade. She has seen the best and worst of me and loves me anyway... even when I almost killed her in a car accident a month after getting my license. Although Mark knows I would never give her away, I am so excited for this next chapter in their lives ...and also REALLY rooting for a destination wedding to Australia. Becca and Mark - thank you for braving the heat and blinding sunshine to capture these. I loved getting to spend the afternoon with you guys before you headed back to PA! LOVE YOU BOTH!!!
Two of the sweetest people you could ever meet got married last Saturday at the Chattanooga Golf & Country Club and I am SO grateful I was a part of the celebrations!! Despite a college rivalry, Jackie and Alex's chance meeting in Chapel Hill led to the start of a beautiful relationship that has since traveled across many state lines but landed them in Atlanta, Georgia. So how does a couple from North Carolina living in Georgia end up getting married in Tennessee? Chattanooga has been a retreat for Jackie and Alex out of the hustle and bustle of the city life and after spending the weekend there I can totally get why they chose to get married here! The beautiful mountain views alone are enough to draw you in and if every weekend in Chattanooga was spent hanging with Jackie, Alex, and their AMAZING family and friends I could stay there forever! The entire day just felt so joyous and personalized. The colorful blooms, relaxed music, donut dessert table and a spirited exit all felt like it fit these two to a T!
I had the honor of capturing Jessica and Brian's Decatur wedding weekend, and let me tell you one important fact about photographing big Irish families - they simply don't meet a stranger! You are immediately treated like family and I can see how this love for others helped draw Jessica and Brian together... that and Brian's insistence on pursuing a relationship after a college friendship was revived. After a chilly and rainy week, these two had the most beautiful weather for their wedding weekend with blue skies and warm sunshine! While every wedding day has a few unexpected hiccups (some bigger than others), Jessica and Brian's day was truly perfect because their love for each other and spending time with their family and friends took top priority throughout their wedding celebrations. I think every guest and every vendor got a huge hug before these two left Fernbank close to the stroke of midnight!
