I had the honor of capturing Natalie and Scott's black tie affair at the Cathedral of Christ the King and reception at Druid Hills Golf Club last weekend. Their beautiful day capped off my June weddings and boy was it an affair to remember for two of the sweetest people you could ever meet! Not only were they surrounded by so many amazing family and friends for their early ceremony, but Natalie invited her students and prepared sweet treat bags for each of them. I'm sure they believed they were watching a real life fairytale princess marry her prince charming!! With sparkling chandeliers hanging over a checkered dance floor, their reception certainly looked like a royal ball as well right down to the rose petal exit and vintage getaway car!
I had the honor of photographing Lindsey and Brooks' classic southern wedding last weekend at the Taylor Grady House and First United Methodist Church in Athens, Georgia. Light pastels and neutral tones paired with magnolia leaves set against a historic home set the scene for guests to enjoy the perfect alfresco southern reception... with a special guest appearance from Hairy Dawg! ...I guess I wasn't super clear when I told Lindsey and Brooks I love it when couples bring THEIR dog to the wedding! It was such a fun night that really felt like they were hosting a [really fancy] backyard party at their home and no one wanted to leave! With a cool summer breeze, guests danced the night away under the stars and sent these two off into married life in a cloud of bubbles... before keeping the party going in downtown Athens.
While these two are enjoying one of my favorite places on earth - ITALY!!! - I am so thrilled to share more from their wedding day at the Foundry at Puritan Mill with you! I am so grateful to have been a part of Kristi and Alex's special day! We spent time together during their engagement session so I knew I would love them, but I didn't know I would also love their families! I cherish getting the last hug from the couple at the end of a long wedding day, but after Kristi and Alex's day I got hugs from their family too. They were seriously surrounded by some amazing people!! Kristi and Alex's love story was many years in the making, but technically the clock didn't start until a friend played matchmaker 11 years after they first *technically* met. I'd say their wedding day was certainly well worth the wait (or #aldworththewait)! Kristi and Alex planned this day together and it fit them perfectly from the beautiful copper details to right down to the Land Rover groom's cake and late night burgers and fries! The excitement Kristi and Alex felt about starting a new adventure as husband and wife was mirrored in all their amazing family and friends that came to celebrate their day, I was just so glad to be a part of it!
For Memorial Day Weekend we loaded the car with my camera gear, enough groceries for an army, sneakers for hiking (and of course Molly) to head to Big Canoe for Madeline and Ben's wedding (and also Madeline's birthday!)!! With guests having to travel for their wedding day, Madeline and Ben wanted to make sure they created an experience for their family and friends. They absolutely made the most of a long weekend. Festivities started Friday and didn't end until late Sunday night when Madeline and Ben left for the night as newlyweds in a thick cloud of sparkler smoke (thanks humidity). Madeline planned every detail to make sure her guests felt welcome at Big Canoe and crafted many of the beautiful accents herself. It truly made it feel like we were at a party hosted at their mountain home and it was such an honor to be a part of the celebrations!
