I had the honor, pleasure and nerve-wracking task of photographing Jeremy and Brittany's beautiful wedding day... at almost 39 weeks pregnant. When I first told Jeremy and Brittany that I was pregnant and due right around their wedding date, they weren't concerned at all. They were just so happy for us! Do I have the best clients ever or what?! Although Jeremy and Brittany aren't just clients, I grew up with Jeremy as a pseudo older brother, and I am SO THRILLED he found his perfect match. A chance meeting through mutual friends sparked a wonderful romance and most importantly a friendship. Brittany can hang with the guys, but (as you can see) get dolled up and light up a room with her smile and gorgeous baby blues. As any wedding goes, their day wasn't without hiccups - like a surprise monsoon during their first look and the AC being broken. However, they weren't shaken one bit and you couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces if you tried. Just another reason why I adore these two!
I had the pleasure of spending the morning with Karlee and Kyle at Winn Park for their engagement session last week! Since Kyle arranged to have the proposal photographed, they had some experience in front of the camera. These two have also been together for a long time so their easy laughter and comfort with each other made my job a breeze! With the afternoon heat index of about 95+ degrees out, we decided it would be best to start in the morning to beat the heat! Unfortunately that meant Kyle had to leave his night shift as a nurse, run home and shower, and head back into town to smile for the camera! Do I have the best clients ever or what?! Kyle and Karlee were both troopers as we dodged spider webs and rain showers to capture these images... and I would say they are worth it! Can't wait for October!!
Not every couple wants a lavish wedding day, but every couple deserves beautiful images from the day they said, "I do!". I am humbled and honored to photograph my couples on their wedding day, but there is something that's extra special about being invited as the only guest to a wedding and capturing such an intimate day for two sweet people. Audrey and Jordan knew they didn't want the traditional fanfare but wanted to make the day special for them. With flowers from Shean Strong that smelled heavenly and a beautiful dress by Badgley Mischka, Audrey was a stunning bride and Jordan's reaction to seeing her for the first time was absolutely priceless. After their ceremony, we spent time around the Courthouse and in Decatur Square capturing a few portraits before they headed home to pack for their incredible trip to Greece! Audrey and Jordan - thank you so much for inviting me into this special day and trusting me with your images! I hope y'all have an AMAZING time in Greece - have LOTS of wine for me!!
It's hard to believe I've known this sweet family for FOUR years now. What started as a work relationship after a photography meet up has turned into wonderful memories of work-cations with husbands, kids of the two legged and four legged variety, man-dates, photo session swapping, many dinners at Taqueria Tsunami, and birthday parties and showers. Now we get to walk through this next phase in our lives with Amanda and Jason holding our hands along the way as the experienced pros. I remember casually telling Amanda we were pregnant (like a DAY pregnant) while eating Sonic on our way to a wedding (our tradition). She knew about our struggles and about my fertility appointment earlier that week and I was DYING to tell her... ironically about a week later she told me that they were expecting baby number TWO! We are due 6 days apart and I can't wait for our babies to meet. ...I also wish we could get a 2-for-1 deal at the hospital. Morgan and I are so grateful to call these folks our friends, but I'm also incredibly grateful for the example they set as parents and husband and wife through this chapter in their lives. Amanda and Jason - I hope you're ready for ALL the matching onesies, weekend trips, and us harassing you with questions about what in the world we are supposed to be doing with this baby. We love you guys!!!
I LOVE when couples include their fur-babies into their engagement session and these two get bonus points for roping in friends to be the dog-wranglers! Also, double bonus points to Danielle and Joseph's sweet friends that walked all over Piedmont Park in the heat so we could get a few extra portraits in without their adorable dog, Max! It was an especially hot evening in June but I'm so glad I finally got to meet Danielle and Joseph before their big day this winter. Although their love story started in New York, they now live in Atlanta and capturing a few family portraits (it's not a family portrait without the pup!) with the Atlanta skyline was their top priority! I would say mission accomplished! Danielle and Joseph have such an ease and comfort about them that makes you feel like you've known them for a long time. Danielle & Joseph - thank you so much for trekking all over the park for these images! I'm so glad I also got to meet sweet Max and cannot WAIT for December... mostly for the cooler temps, right??
