Sometimes you are reminded that it is a small, small world and I'm so thankful that it is because it allowed me to get together with Brittany and Jonathan in Statesboro as we were both visiting family! It was such a joy to meet this sweet couple and have the chance to get to know them before their wedding day. I especially loved their proposal story - bonus points for Jonathan! Brittany and Jonathan - thank you both so much for taking time from family during the holidays to capture such an exciting time in your lives. I had so much fun with you guys and cannot wait for your big day!!! Let's just hope oncoming traffic won't be an issue :)
When I first decided to make Jill Doty Photography "official", Kayla said to me that she couldn't wait to get engaged so I could take all of her pictures. Little did either of us know that I would get to be a part of the actual proposal! Josh could not have been more thoughtful in his plans. He made sure to include family and friends and proposed in a place very special to Kayla and her late grandfather. Despite a few hints from her family - "let's get our nails done" and "why don't you change your clothes", Kayla was COMPLETELY surprised. The second you meet their families, you instantly feel welcomed in as if you were one of their own and I cannot wait to celebrate with them on their special day! Congratulations and best wishes to you both!
To say this day was truly magical would be an understatement. It was a wedding day that embodied everything that is most important when uniting a family before God. I loved the relaxing feel of the day; being able to share in the excitement and anticipation shared between this beautiful couple was so special. Every detail down to the sixpence in Emily's shoe and Martin's fun socks was absolutely perfect! I have no doubt that the Smith's will spend their lives making each other laugh and cherishing their new family. Martin and Emily - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for letting me be a part of your love story - it's quite a beautiful one.
I was so fortunate to be able to witness such a beautiful day and I'm so thankful Bre of Scobey Photography asked me to join her!. It was very apparent that God is going to be the center of their marriage even before they said "I DO!". There was so much love and support surrounding this couple and it is so apparent that you two are truly special to everyone you meet. Thank you Cait and John for making me feel like a member of your family - whether it was offering donuts or hugs! I hope you had an amazing honeymoon and you've settled into your new lives as a married couple. Big thanks to Primrose Cottage for making sure we had everything we needed!
We definitely chose one of the yuckiest days to capture such a beautiful couple but it meant we had the park all to ourselves. I am so glad that Katie and Ryan (and Finn!) were willing to brave the cold, rainy weather with me at Piedmont Park! There is obviously so much love and laughter in their life; Baby Powers will be so lucky to have these two as parents. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and safe travels to visit family in Virginia!
