Being a part of a proposal is like keeping the best secret ever and getting to capture the surprise is the cherry on top. It was important to Hunter to have this proposal happen on their 5 year dating anniversary... what a way to celebrate, right?! However, it meant juggling lots of logistics since it would mean coordinating work schedules and beating the clock on sunset as it was a Friday. We chatted back and forth about the best way to make this night one they would remember forever. When the day came, Hunter was so excited and a bundle of nerves as he just wanted to make it all perfect. We met up at Ray's on the River to plot it out and Hunter left to pick up Brittney... leaving me to sit and stew about how I could blend in and not draw attention to myself! Thankfully when I saw them heading my way, Brittney stopped to take a picture of the sunset over the river and I realized she was definitely not going to pay any attention to me... especially if I was "on the phone" when they walked by. My heart was racing as I saw Hunter reaching into his jacket pocket for the ring and my cheeks hurt from smiling as Brittney's reaction was just so perfect. After the realization set in that she was getting married, Hunter pointed me out - I had successfully remained camouflaged and unseen! We then took a few additional portraits before the sun went down and they got to toast their big news over dinner and later with their families. I absolutely adore these two and am so thankful I was able to be a part of this special moment for Hunter and Brittney!! |
