Sometimes the newborn phase is so fleeting... and exhausting and overwhelming... that pictures just aren't on the radar. Brooke reached out wanting to make sure she captured this chapter in their lives before Caroline lost some her baby-ness and I'm so glad she did! I actually LOVE getting to photograph babies at this stage as they look more like the little person they're becoming, and if you're lucky you can snag a real smile or two! Brooke and Drew are obviously so smitten with their baby girl, but it's also obvious they still love their "first born" and fur baby, Bailey. Bailey wears the Big Sister title proudly and loved getting in on the photos during their session! Brooke and Drew - enjoy each and every cuddle and new milestone, it goes by so fast! Hopefully these images will help you relive this sweet time with Caroline as she grows and changes into the beautiful girl I know she'll be! Thanks for having me!!
I FINALLY got to meet Morgan and Trey for their engagement session last weekend! Soon after they booked me, they moved to Texas and our calendars never quite seemed to align. We had the date set for Friday evening and it was an 80% chance of rain all day... *big surprise* I know. Thankfully they were willing to squeeze in time before their flight on Sunday because it looked like we were finally going to get some sunshine! We met up at Chastain Park and since it was such a gorgeous day, my little motley crew decided to take a stroll before the session. Our dog Molly almost got to jump in their photos... but she did manage to jump all over Morgan and Trey. Thankfully they were good sports. These two both grew up and went to high school in the Atlanta area but didn't start dating until later on, but you can tell there is a comfort and familiarity that comes from knowing each other a long time. Morgan and Trey - thanks for being so flexible with your last weekend home before the big day! I absolutely loved getting to spend the afternoon with y'all! Can't wait for April!
I had the pleasure of spending a gorgeous evening on Georgia Tech's campus with Meredith and Michael. We retraced their steps of how their love story began and hit all the meaningful hot-spots on campus. Meredith and Michael met at orientation and ended up in the same dorm and a few classes together. After a few months, they were "official". Gotta love a Georgia Tech love story that begins right from the start at FASET! When I asked Meredith if she had any specific shots in mind she said, "No, I just want these pictures to show how happy and in love we are. Because we are!". And in that moment I fell in love with these two. They're literally almost giddy with each other and I had a blast capturing this exciting time in their lives. Meredith and Michael - thank you for making the trip from North Carolina for your engagement session! I hope you love these as much as I do!
It's hard to believe I've known this sweet family for FOUR years now. What started as a work relationship after a photography meet up has turned into wonderful memories of work-cations with husbands, kids of the two legged and four legged variety, man-dates, photo session swapping, many dinners at Taqueria Tsunami, and birthday parties and showers. Now we get to walk through this next phase in our lives with Amanda and Jason holding our hands along the way as the experienced pros. I remember casually telling Amanda we were pregnant (like a DAY pregnant) while eating Sonic on our way to a wedding (our tradition). She knew about our struggles and about my fertility appointment earlier that week and I was DYING to tell her... ironically about a week later she told me that they were expecting baby number TWO! We are due 6 days apart and I can't wait for our babies to meet. ...I also wish we could get a 2-for-1 deal at the hospital. Morgan and I are so grateful to call these folks our friends, but I'm also incredibly grateful for the example they set as parents and husband and wife through this chapter in their lives. Amanda and Jason - I hope you're ready for ALL the matching onesies, weekend trips, and us harassing you with questions about what in the world we are supposed to be doing with this baby. We love you guys!!!
For the past year I have had a desire to give back using photography weighing on my heart. My schedule always seemed to fill before I could make plans, but this year I made it a priority. I came up with a way to combine several things I love - my couples and families, helping animals, and photography. So I hosted a day-long mini session marathon for my past brides and families. Together with these amazing people (and their fur-kids), I am THRILLED to announce we raised $2,000. This money will go towards helping the Atlanta Humane Society do what they do best - rescue those that need help the most. The incredible people that work and volunteer at AHS were very generous in allowing me to come and visit and meet some of the animals we helped (Christine is the best!). They do hard work - emotionally and physically and I am so thankful for them! If you would like to donate to AHS or volunteer, I promise you won't regret it! ...and if you would like me to send you pictures of dogs that are available for adoption each week - let me know, I can do that too! They have several ways to help - monetary donations, purchasing items on their wish list, sponsoring a dog or cat, or even fostering. If you have room in your heart and home, I encourage you to go visit one of their campuses and fall in love with these sweet babies yourself!
