For this session we went OTP, I'm talking REAL OTP, and I loved every minute of the beautiful drive up to Helen to see Alston and Chris (and sweet Rosie!) for their engagement session! They hike this trail almost every weekend so they wanted to capture images in this cherished spot. The trip was EXTRA worthwhile when sweet Alston gave us a bag of her delicious rainbow/Easter themed rice krispie treats to enjoy on the ride home... or right then (I think I had two before we actually started shooting). The trail was absolutely gorgeous and Alston and Chris' GSP pup, Rosie, was extra excited to be in the mountains! Although I think Morgan was more excited than Rosie because he got to test out a few drone shots while we were there; still need some practice but it was fun!! [I promise I won't share the video - it will make you a little (or a lot) nauseous from the spinning.] It seemed like we were quite literally going to go "over the river and through the woods" but then we also went through the river as it was the quickest way to get back to the car to head to our next stop on the trail. I absolutely loved exploring North Georgia with these two; they were such troopers - especially Alston navigating the trail in a dress at the end!! I'd say it was all worth it, wouldn't you? Alston and Chris - thank you so much for being up for anything. Rosie - thank you for the endless kisses. Can't wait for the big day!!!
There are people that you meet and you know within minutes that they will be in your life forever, or at least you will want them to be. That's what happened when I met these two at a Starbucks when my business was just getting off the ground... it actually took two Starbucks because I didn't realize the first Starbucks I sent them was in a Kroger. Rookie mistake right out of the gate, but thankfully they looked past that. I instantly loved Sara and Dustin. We shared a love of sarcasm and inappropriate jokes while still having a get sh*t done personality type. They booked me right then and there for their wedding day. That was three years ago and an engagement session and wedding later, the Whites are expecting their first baby! I couldn't be more thrilled to share in the excitement!!! Sara and Dustin are going to be AMAZING parents and I loved getting to capture them in their new home (and super cute nursery) and I cannot wait to sweet Anna!!
Investing back into my business is something that often gets put on the back burner because I almost always put my couples first. Between shooting, editing, blogging, delivering images, meetings, housekeeping and wondering where in the world my lens cap went, it gets really hard to make time to strategize intentionally for the future of the biz. This year I made it a priority to create a promotional video that would not only share testimony from a real couple but also highlight my personality and the way I approach wedding photography.
It is so easy to let time slip by before getting your picture taken after your wedding day, but anniversary sessions create some of my FAVORITE images because you can just feel a deeper kind of love and comfort after getting some marriage under your belt. I met up with Cassidy and Josh and their sweet pups for a sunrise session at Tanyard Creek park and it was a CHILLY morning! I realized I had to reposition them a few times when you could see their breath in the morning light! Thankfully they were total troopers and just enjoyed snuggling up together and kept the biggest smiles the entire time! Cassidy and Josh - thank you so much for joining me so early in the morning to capture these! I hope you love them as much as I do!
FINALLY I can share these gorgeous images now that Kate is a married woman! She was absolutely stunning in this Anne Barge gown and I was so thrilled to be able to get a sneak peak of her bridal look for her portrait session in Augusta at a family friend's beautiful home. Kate is the perfect vision of classic elegance and I loved getting to spend the afternoon with her and her mom, Jeanne. The added bonus was that I got to meet their pup, Chloe who is so stinkin' cute!! Special thanks to the amazing help of Suzanne of Wesley Cadle for ensuring Kate's dress stayed pristine and constantly arranging a shower curtain underneath her, climbing in bushes so I could test the light and holding back branches!! I can't wait to share Kate and Trey's stunning images, but for now - enjoy these beauties!
