Two of the sweetest people you could ever meet got married last Saturday at the Chattanooga Golf & Country Club and I am SO grateful I was a part of the celebrations!! Despite a college rivalry, Jackie and Alex's chance meeting in Chapel Hill led to the start of a beautiful relationship that has since traveled across many state lines but landed them in Atlanta, Georgia. So how does a couple from North Carolina living in Georgia end up getting married in Tennessee? Chattanooga has been a retreat for Jackie and Alex out of the hustle and bustle of the city life and after spending the weekend there I can totally get why they chose to get married here! The beautiful mountain views alone are enough to draw you in and if every weekend in Chattanooga was spent hanging with Jackie, Alex, and their AMAZING family and friends I could stay there forever! The entire day just felt so joyous and personalized. The colorful blooms, relaxed music, donut dessert table and a spirited exit all felt like it fit these two to a T! We started the day at the Westin in downtown Chattanooga before heading to the Country Club for Jackie and Alex's first look. With the weather holding out for us, we were thankful to have a little sunshine before their ceremony! However, with a storm coming in we did have to battle the insane wind! To the point of Jackie's veil almost flying into the river (shoutout to Alex's groomsmen, James for rescuing it!). We were able to knock out a majority of the portraits before heading to Northside Presbyterian Church. I thought we were in the clear for rain ...until their wedding guests opened the church doors after the ceremony to head to the reception. But for a wedding day that was supposed to be 100% rainy, I will take a quick summer shower any day! We made it back to the reception mostly dry and Jackie and Alex got to join their family and friends for cocktail hour before getting introduced into their reception! Family and friends piled onto the dance floor as The Catalinas played classic beach music mixed with a little mo-town. The rest of the night flew by as friends showed off their impressive dance moves and many donuts were consumed (I can only claim one of them, but I can't say the same for their hilarious officiant, Clay) before everyone left cheering on their favorite schools - N.C. State and UNC. It was a wedding divided but so full of love!! Jackie and Alex - thank you so much for your friendship and for allowing me to capture this beautiful day for you two! Have so much fun in St. Lucia!!! LOVE this shot Amanda of A.Bloch Photography captured of Jackie checking out her makeup when it was all finished! I wasn't kidding about this wind...
