Investing back into my business is something that often gets put on the back burner because I almost always put my couples first. Between shooting, editing, blogging, delivering images, meetings, housekeeping and wondering where in the world my lens cap went, it gets really hard to make time to strategize intentionally for the future of the biz. This year I made it a priority to create a promotional video that would not only share testimony from a real couple but also highlight my personality and the way I approach wedding photography. Right out of the gate I completely underestimated how much planning was involved, especially in regards to storyboarding... and choosing an outfit. What WAS easy was choosing a couple. Now don't get me wrong, I have 60+ brides that I would have LOVED to put in front of my camera again but Tara and Ryan immediately came to mind. These two are not only super photogenic and wrote one of the sweetest reviews, but their first year of marriage was tough. Cancer will do that. However, having them in front of my camera again I realized something. I realized that their marriage is stronger because of it. Their laughs came easier, the smiles bigger and the snuggles a little closer. I have no doubt they love each other more today than on their wedding day. I am so thankful that I could spend the day with Tara and Ryan and that they took time from their weekend to play dress up and share their experience working with me, but I'm even more grateful for their friendship. Tara and Ryan - y'all are truly the best. I hope these images will remind you that life may hand you some pretty rotten lemons, but together you will always make lemonade. LOVE YOU BOTH!!!! And in case you missed the video launch, check it out!! Dress: Lulus || Videography: Imagine Video Productions || Bouquet: Sean O'Keefe Events || Venue: Whitlock Inn
