I had the honor and privilege of capturing and celebrating with Alyssa and Austin on their snowy wedding day at Montaluce Winery in North Georgia. They were my very last couple of 2017 and it was filled with enough joy to carry me well into my 2018 season despite any of the hiccups caused by the surprise snow last weekend! When you plan a wedding for December in Georgia, you assume it might be in the 50s... but also possibly the high 60s-70s. You just never know! I DO know Alyssa and Austin did not plan on having a white wedding, but they handled it with such grace and embraced it all.... even toughing it out through portraits in the snow! I would say it was absolutely worth it, don't you agree? With the chilly temps and potential for icy roads, you would think the guest count would take a hit but when you have a couple as special and Austin and Alyssa, it's no surprise that they had a full house and a packed dance floor partying all night! These two were surrounded by the most amazing people on their wedding day that it truly felt like one big family affair! We started our day at the beautiful villa Alyssa rented on the Montaluce property photographing all the details while the ladies got ready at the salon across town. She had everything organized and ready for us! After loading up the dress, shoes, and all the details in the car - we made our way into the winery. It looked like something out of a fairytale covered in snow! After a few last sips of champagne, it was time for the first look. Alyssa didn't mind one bit if her dress got dirty from the wet ground and was just so excited to see Austin! Their first look was so incredibly sweet and the snow just made their portrait time that much more magical... and logistically a bit complicated trying to NOT get them covered in mud or have them frozen! But these two were troopers and were just so wrapped up in their own excitement they didn't notice. Thankfully they got a break to warm up as guests arrived for the ceremony. Austin and Alyssa's ceremony was beautiful and so personalized and the look of pure happiness on their faces as they were pronounced husband and wife was truly priceless. After a quick cocktail hour, the party got started! Drinks and conversation flowed, it seemed like everyone knew each other already! When it was time for toasts, there was not a dry eye in the house - including me. I'll blame the chilly air. These college sweethearts are so loved and it is easy to see why the second you meet Austin and Alyssa! I am so thankful I was able to be a part of their day... and that I didn't fall down the slick stairs during their sparkler exit! Austin and Alyssa - I hope you are enjoying the beach and all the umbrella drinks for me in Mexico! Thank you for being so wonderful and ending my 2017 wedding season with a bang! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
