Dear 2014: thank you for catching me in the biggest, warmest embrace when I took a giant leap of faith to quit my job and become a full time photographer. I was bracing for a fall and instead I was lifted up by LOVE time and time again. I have celebrated love, captured love, and felt loved among so many amazing couples and families. I have cherished getting the last hug before a bride and groom make their getaway, anxiously awaited a family's reaction after they receive their images, celebrated every new booking for the year ahead, felt the disappointment of rejection, and fallen into the trap of self-doubt a time or two... hundred. But you 2014, and you fabulous people that filled this year, always gave me a big hug, high five, or kick in the pants I needed to pursue this passion that drives Jill Doty Photography. For that, I thank you.
Wonderful experiences have shaped me personally and professionally this year that I could not have anticipated. I'm living the life that was just a dream in what seems like such a short time ago. It just feels like God turned on a light on the path I've already taken to show me why and how I got to this point in my life. I am so blessed that most of this path was shared with my amazing husband, best friend, CFO, proof reader, supplier of ego boosts, and #1 fan of JDP. I owe a great deal to so many people for making this year a great success. I feel like could have a credit reel a mile long, but you know who you are and you are loved dearly.
I cannot honestly say that I will charge fearlessly into 2015, but I will approach each new opportunity with an open heart, open mind, and open arms. So here's to reaching new goals, taking new risks, meeting new people, and capturing new memories. Love ya 2014. Bring it on, 2015!!!
Cheers!
xo, Jill
