I had the honor of capturing Jessica and Brian's Decatur wedding weekend, and let me tell you one important fact about photographing big Irish families - they simply don't meet a stranger! You are immediately treated like family and I can see how this love for others helped draw Jessica and Brian together... that and Brian's insistence on pursuing a relationship after a college friendship was revived. After a chilly and rainy week, these two had the most beautiful weather for their wedding weekend with blue skies and warm sunshine! While every wedding day has a few unexpected hiccups (some bigger than others), Jessica and Brian's day was truly perfect because their love for each other and spending time with their family and friends took top priority throughout their wedding celebrations. I think every guest and every vendor got a huge hug before these two left Fernbank close to the stroke of midnight! On a wedding day I am always ready for things to change and this day was no different. We pulled an audible in the first few moments of arriving to the church and hopped in the car and headed to Jessica's mom's house instead! I am so glad we did because we had so much more space and beautiful light for the ladies to finish getting ready in. Thankfully we were just around the corner from the church so we headed back for Jessica and Brian's first look and a lightning round of portraits to knock out before the ceremony! With two Georgia Tech grads, I knew they would appreciate efficiency and we wrapped up in plenty of time before guests came pouring in. Their ceremony was so sweet and personal with an excerpt from the Velveteen Rabbit and an Irish blessing, and everyone got a huge laugh out of Jessica's dad carrying a sign out of the ceremony with a picture of his daughters that said "two down, one more to go". Since we crushed our portrait to-do list before they said, "I do!" we headed to Fernbank Museum for a few last minute portraits so Jessica and Brian could join their cocktail hour. Did I mention they prioritized spending time with their family and friends?! The rest of the night was spent celebrating the newlyweds with hilarious and sweet toasts, a packed dance floor underneath the dinosaurs, and a super long tunnel of sparklers as they left for the night as a married couple. Jessica and Brian - your wedding was truly rejuvenating for me and I'm just so thankful I was able to be a part of your celebrations! I can't wait to see all you will accomplish together and I hope you have an amazing trip to Costa Rica!! LOVE this shot of Brian waiting to see his bride that Amanda of A.Bloch Photography captured!
