I have now had the privilege of photographing TWO Sikes weddings and it was such an honor to be asked to be a part of another celebration for this sweet family! While a wedding day is about the love between the couple actually tying the knot, it's also a celebration of families joining together. It is obvious Margaret and Cody have a strong foundation in their family and their faith and I know they have an amazing (and large!) support system for their marriage! Over 200 people came to celebrate Margaret and Cody's day so I knew going in there was going to be an epic party, but there were so many meaningful details and special moments I was definitely not expecting - like when Margaret's grandfather got out of his wheelchair to share dance with his wife at the end of the night. Pretty sure everyone was sobbing and I was just hiding behind my camera so my blubbering mess wasn't as obvious. These are the moments that stick with you long after the flowers wilt, the food is tossed, and the sparklers are all burned out. It was such an honor to be a part of moments like this and all of the fun of Margaret and Cody's day! Margaret got ready at her grandparents' beautiful home just down the road from me and it made for the perfect backdrop for all the detail shots as well as portraits of Margaret and her bridesmaids! Everyone was ready and just got to hang out and enjoy champagne until it was action time. I LOVE walking into wedding day with a laid back wedding party, it makes my job a breeze! These ladies were all "go with the flow" even when we were taking pictures out in the heat. Somehow I melted and they all still looked GORGEOUS! After knocking out all the portraits, we headed to Peachtree Presbyterian for Margaret's first look with Cody. Cody got ready with his friends at his parents' home nearby and when the guys arrived to the church they looked so spiffy in their monogrammed suspenders! We got Cody set ready to see his bride and when he turned to see Margaret, the look on his face was priceless. It was pure joy if I've ever seen it. Their beaming smiles didn't leave their faces the entire day and with the delicious food, stocked bar, super fun band and most of all the amazing people there to support them on their big day, it was impossible not to smile. Margaret and Cody - thank you for asking me to be a part of this incredible time in your lives. You two are special people but even better together!! Special thanks to Amanda of A.Bloch Photography for hanging out with the guys while I was with the ladies!!
