It has been the dreariest December that I can remember. This time last year I was facing a snowy wedding day, but last Saturday was just constant rain. Thankfully Venue 92 has a covered outdoor space for the ceremony, but I’m even more thankful that Kristen and Eric didn’t let the forecast phase them one bit. They were even up for a few portraits in the rain! These two met at work and if you were at their reception you could tell they may work hard, but they play harder. Their family and friends didn't want to leave!! Kristen and Eric had such an amazing support system for their wedding day (including two of my favorite past brides!) and it just felt like one big family celebrating together. Everyone definitely got a little closer around the heaters during the ceremony so I think folks felt like family afterwards regardless! I started the day with shooting the details as always and if you know Kristen, it was no surprise that she had all of her details organized in a Tupperware container. She was on it! While the bridesmaids enjoyed snacks and a little bubbly, the groomsmen were enjoying watching Kentucky Basketball (until the end). One of them even offered to switch places with Eric for the first look so he could finish watching the game as they went into overtime. Unfortunately for the wildcats, it wasn’t the ending they had hoped for, but for Eric seeing his beautiful bride walk down the stairs I think it was absolutely perfect. These two are just so comfortable and natural together that they literally have a calming presence about them. I wish I could bottle it for every wedding day! After a beautiful but chilly ceremony, guests warmed up inside with food and fellowship. It wasn’t until the “formalities” is a reception were over that I realized just how much Kristen and Eric’s crew like to party. The dance floor was PACKED all night long and suddenly the chilly air outside was a welcome relief! Their wonderful wedding ended with a tunnel of Georgia Southern pompoms and one last Kentucky chant to send Kristen and Eric off into married life! Kristen and Eric- thank you so much for including me in your day! One day we are going to get together for a Kentucky basketball game so I am not subjected to the tension by myself! Love you guys!!
