I had the honor of photographing Alston and Chris' beautiful wedding at the Waterfall Club in Clayton, Georgia. It was a quintessential fall wedding with deep burgundy bridesmaids dresses, rich bouquets, and of course the backdrop of the colorful foliage of North Georgia in November. However, it wouldn't be Georgia without a little surprise rain before the ceremony. Thankfully it cleared and we actually got a double rainbow! We all agreed it was a good omen. Alston and Chris' day was so meaningful, but the part I loved the most was their first dance. Alston wrote a song three weeks after Chris proposed and recorded it to play for their first dance. Chris had no idea and I'm pretty sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house after it was over. I live for these special, unique moments during a wedding day! We got the day started at a gorgeous home in the Waterfall Club where all ten bridesmaids got hair and makeup done all while enjoying mimosas and lots of yummy snacks. As I photographed the details, I realized how every piece fit Alston to a T. Her BHLDN dress, the flower hair piece, and even the funky shoes were all perfect for her on this special day. When it was time for the first look, we headed to the very top of the waterfall. I did my best not to look down. Chris turned to see his beautiful bride and it was evident that they were both just so pumped to get married and get their party started! The wedding party waited patiently while we captured a few portraits... then they were REAL troopers as we made our way down a huge hill (which was way harder going back up for the ladies in heels) for a space in the shade large enough for Alston and Chris' army of friends. Large wedding parties can be tricky, but with this crew it was just so much fun! The rest of the day ran so smoothly and after the ceremony we were able to capture them as the sun was hitting the leaves making the trees look like they were on fire. It was simply stunning! I wish every fall wedding had the views and coloring we had that day! After jamming to Funk You all night, Alston and Chris headed into married life under a tunnel of sparklers. It was the perfect ending to their gorgeous day! LOVE the angle Hillary Joy captured of their first look! Bride's Hair/Makeup: J.
